PEI PNP Invites 135 Candidates in Expression of Interest Draw

On July 18th Provincial Nominee Program of the Prince Edward Island held its latest Expression of Interest draw, in which it invited 135 candidates for submitting the application to seek provincial nomination. This draw targeted candidates belonging to the Labor Impact, Business Impact as well as Express Entry. 118 candidates in Labor Impact and Express Entry received invitations in the draw, and the share of Business Impact candidates was just 17.

PEI PNP Expression of Interest system

The PNP commenced its Expression of Interest system in 2018. After this the officials conducted monthly draws. This year PEI PNP conducted seven EOI draws so far. In these draws, 922 candidates received invitations. Among these, 789 invitations were issued in its Labor Impact/Express Entry streams and the remaining invitations were issued to Business Impact stream candidates.

In 2018, the launching year of the Expression of Interest system Prince Edward Island totally invited 1,446 applicants. The break up was 1,240 in Labor Impact and EE candidates and 206 in Business Impact category. It also conducted a large Expression of Interest draw on Oct 18th, 2018, inviting 297 candidates.

PEI PNP Express Entry stream

Using the Express Entry stream, this PNP opts for the candidates belonging to the Express Entry pool and also nominates them for Canadian permanent residence. Also such candidates receiving this provincial nomination obtain 600 extra CRS score points that make it sure to get an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in a following Express Entry draw. The EE stream of PEI PNP has pathways, in which the first requires a job offer and the second does not require it.

PEI PNP Labor Impact Category

There are two streams in the Labor Impact category Skilled Worker Stream followed by the Critical Worker Stream.

Skilled Worker Stream caters to the requirements of skilled workers having the employment offer from a local employer.

Critical Worker Stream has an aim of solving the acute labor shortage in the province. Moreover, it is open to overseas workers who already have a job in PEI in specific demand occupations.
