The Ontario Immigrant Nominee (O.I.N.P) Program announced 667 invitations to Express Entry applicants relating to the Skilled Trades Stream in the most recent draw which is conducted on 11 December. The draw accompanied that the additional allotment of 700 nominations that the province obtained for the year 2019. With the new allocation, the entire nominations allotment for OINP for the year has reached 7350. The primary allotment for the Ontario province for 2019 was 6650 nominations.
All the 667 Notifications of Interest announced in the recent draw went to Express Entry applicants relating to the Skilled Trades category. It is one of the 3 immigration pathways below O.I.N.P that are connected to the federal Express Entry stream.
The stream enables O.I.N.P to choose applicants with relevant work experience in qualified skilled trades and then invite them to apply for a nomination from the Ontario province. To be qualified, the candidates need to have a minimum of one year Ontario experience in one of the listed qualified skilled trades besides achieving other criteria.
In the 11 December selection round, the minimum CRS score needed for the applicants to be chosen was 410 points. Those who have got NOIs in the11 December draw will be counted below the 2020 nomination allotment of OINP.
The Skilled Trades Category is one of the 3 immigration pathways below the Ontario PNP that are associated with the federal Express Entry system. The remaining 2 streams are French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream and Human Capital Priorities Stream. Beneath the Human Capital Priorities Stream, Ontario province announced a sum of 6958 Notifications of Interest in 2019, while the NOIs announced by the French-speaking Skilled Worker Category is 549 points. Those who obtain a nomination from Ontario will have 600 extra points added to their entire CRS score and that would assure them with an Invitation to Apply for Canada PR in the following federal Express Entry draw.
