The federal government of Australia is increasing its intake below the Australian regional migration program from the existing 23,000 places to 25,000 places after the first success of this initiative. The Australia immigration department took this initiative to overcome the labor shortages in the regional areas and to reduce the overpopulation in the metro cities like Sydney and Melbourne.
Under the Australian regional migration program which is announced at the beginning of this year, 23,000 places would be kept exclusively for migrants who are pledged to live and work in Australian regional areas.
If the nominated or selected immigrants are committed to live and work in the regional areas of Australia for a minimum tenure of three years, then they will suitable for applying for Australian permanent residency.
Immigration Minister of Australia, David Coleman said there were 6000 visas that were permitted beneath the program in the initial three months of the current financial year, related to less than 3000 in the last quarter of the financial year 2018 to 2019 and before the initiative going underway.
So the government of Australia has seen a very powerful start to the year in promoting regional migration in Australia,' Mr. Coleman, Immigration Minister of Australia, told to media in Sydney on 26 October 2019.
The government of Australia will be raising the allocation for regional places in the immigration system for this year that is in 2019, from the existing 23,000 places to 25,000 places.
